Kat Potter

    Hi, I’m Mrs. Potter.

I have been the art teacher at Alicia Sanchez International since 2012. I am a Colorado native and live in Denver with my husband, two dogs, cat, and chickens. I went to college in Rhode Island earning my BFA in Filmmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design. While in college I spent a year in Italy studying and making art. I got my teaching license from Metropolitan State University in Denver. I am an artist and a teacher, and I believe every student has an opportunity in art to express him or herself and explore new knowledge in a deeper way. In our art room we will explore historical and contemporary artists to get a better sense of history and current world issues. Students in the art studio should think of themselves as artists and grow to trust their own voice in their making.

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” - Pablo Picasso
